We do require a non-refundable $100 deposit prior to beginning any design work on a couture order. We can take payment for a deposit by credit card over the phone. Don't see something you love in our house section? Want a suite tailored to your exact specifications from the ground up? Welcome to couture. A couture order is created specifically for you, everything is custom, everything is original. You provide us with a digital file of inspiration images and we work with you to design every detail of your suite to be personal to your style and aesthetic.
If you decide you want to move forward with us on a couture invitation suite the first step is to fill out our couture design form and contract, downloadable HERE. Please note: You will need Adobe Reader installed on your computer to enter your information. Once the form is complete, simply save (with your first and last name included in the file name) and email it back to us. In the form we will also ask you to give us important details about your wedding for the wording of your invitation and accompanying pieces. This will allow us to personalize everything right from the start. There will also be space to describe your vision for the invitation suite. It is particularly helpful if you can send over any inspiration pictures you have collected for your wedding and especially any examples of stationery that you have seen and love. This helps us get a visual idea of your style.
Once we have all of your information, we will design several invitation options for you to consider. If you like one of these, we will tweak it and make any changes you would like to see until it is perfect. If none of the invites in the first proof set are what you are looking for, we will keep designing until we have something you love, providing up to six original design concepts. Once you have selected a design, we will create the accompanying pieces to coordinate. There is no limit on revisions to a chosen design. We are happy to make as many changes as needed until it is a perfect fit. We do have a minimum order of at least two pieces for couture designs. We also don't begin the couture design process more than four months before the expected order date.
On the back page of the form are our terms and conditions for the couture contract. Please read this section carefully. We do require a flat, non-refundable $100 deposit for all couture designs prior to beginning the design process. We do not require any further payment until we have a final, approved design for all of your pieces. At this point, when you are ready for us to go to print, we can either process your credit card by phone or send a link to pay online by e-check. We do not ask for full payment until you are completely happy with your suite and are ready to have everything printed. Once we have payment, our turnaround time before we are ready to ship is approximately four weeks.
Creating a couture invitation suite is an involved process and will inherently take longer than our house process. A first couture proof takes two weeks from the date we have your signed contract and deposit. Revision time will depend on the extent of the changes you would like to see made. Expect the couture process to take at least a month and a half, sometimes several months. You will want plenty of time to review proofs with your fiancé and any other wedding stakeholders! Please keep in mind there is a four week print turnaround time once a design is finalized with full payment. We will ALWAYS be upfront with you about how long an expected revision or design will take.
It is important to us that every piece of stationery we create is original and our own. We will never copy another designer’s work and we hope that you won’t ask us to! Sending us inspiration photos to give us an idea of your style is great! We live for that stuff! But please, don’t send us someone else’s design and ask us to create a copy for you, but with your wording and colors. This isn’t couture, this is stealing. We just can’t do that and we hate disappointing you. Thanks for understanding!
We always recommend ordering a sample set from us prior to placing an order. Letterpress is meant to be touched and tactilely enjoyed. You just can’t get that same experience from a computer screen, no matter how amazing our photos are! Ordering a sample set will also give you an idea of what we have created for past couture clients, let you see what our paper color options look like in person and provide a sense of how impressive your own suite will be when it arrives to your guests by mail!
All couture samples are $5.00 and usually ship within 48 hours of the order being received. Delivery times will vary based on where you are located. International orders can take up to 2 weeks to arrive. We do not use tracking numbers for sample orders. To place a couture sample order, please click the button below.
