Fontophile Files: Edition #11

Most of my font friday posts seem to be all about my favorite scripts so I thought I’d share a brand spanking new roman option that I fell in love with recently.  I am always looking for a good, distressed but still readable typeface for our vintage brides that can infuse an invitation with some personality and a feeling of history.  Packard seems to be designed just for that and as soon as C isn’t looking it is coming home with me!  I also love the provenance of the font: “Packard Old Style is based on lettering drawn by Oswald Cooper for the Packard Motor Company (ATF 1913).”  How cool is that?

Packard has both a regular and bold version to allow for a little versatility.  And how great is the name?  Loving it today.
